About the job Development Manager

Summary:

The Development Manager plays a leading role in all areas of the real estate development process including acquisitions, feasibility studies, financial analysis and forecasts, conceptual site planning and design, municipal permitting and approvals, and project management from acquisition through construction for the assigned development sites. Successful project execution of projects on time and on the budget will be the responsibility of the Development Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

The Development Manager will have an academic and/or applied background that includes the following:

• Preferred BA/BS degree in Engineering, Project Management, Real Estate Development, Construction or related field or equivalent supplemented by training in building sciences, construction, architecture, civil engineering and/or urban planning.
• Preferable, at least 15 years of experience in the real estate industry, particularly in high-end residential projects and from a diversified background, such as consultancy, contractors, developers etc., having completed a number of successful real estate development projects on time and within budget.
• A comprehensive understanding of market analysis, development feasibility analysis, proforma cash flow, development management, approvals processes, and construction through to customer care.
• A focused individual who is skilled at contract negotiations, managing consultants and the approvals process, as well as proforma and costing analysis.
• A disciplined individual with a reputation as a team player and collaborator who knows how to get things done on time and within budget;
• A creative problem-solver who knows when to act independently yet consults the senior management team when necessary and well in advance of crisis situations with foresight and integrity;
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with a working knowledge of relevant software applications, including Sketchup or other drawing software, proficiency with Office365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and Project; and
• Language: English, and Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Completing a comprehensive detailed analysis of current and future projects;
• Prepare budgeting for Development Projects;
• Completing development of a standard weekly, monthly and quarterly project report for each project as per request from your line manager and/or management;
• Completing development projects from acquisition through approvals, construction and customer care on time and on budget; and
• Completing summary reports of each project for corporate reporting.
