About the role
Reporting into the Senior Business Manager, the key focus for the Sales Manager, Africa role is to deliver the commercial strategy in Africa by driving profitable sales growth across our Penfolds portfolio by managing customer strategy and Key Accounts whilst working with the Senior Business Manager and Marketing teams to build and deliver effective channel plans.
To achieve set volume and profit targets, this will involve establishing and managing strong commercial relationships with appointed distributors, key accounts whilst identifying business opportunities and converting these into a tangible action plans and working with the customer to maximise profitability.
An important aspect of the role is to implement a new focused strategy for the Africa region driving volume and RTM efficiencies.
Some of the responsibilities of this role include:
- Create and execute comprehensive customer plans with targeted / potential key accounts with an ultimate objective to build distribution and thus the profile of the Penfolds wine portfolio.
- Being clear on the sales and marketing plans as they relate to the category and ensuring these plans are effectively interpreted and working with the team to organise execution plans and priorities accordingly.
- Negotiating and introducing business agreements/trading terms with Key customers to grow EBIT and build brand equity.
- Shipment forecast planning for all customers on a monthly basis
- Monitoring and analysis of the effectiveness of promotions, capturing information and proactively feeding back to the customer marketing
- Providing feedback on quarterly activity to ensure that it meets the needs of the business plan and is consumer and customer effective
About you
We are looking for an experienced sales manager with experience in FMCG ideally with exposure to key African markets.
- WSET or similar wine education desired but not essential
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Strong business financials understanding, analysis and application
- Computer Literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & email
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to understand, embrace and capitalise on change and lead others through change
- Strong Reporting and Presentation Skills
