Looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with keen business acumen and the drive to adopt latest technologies across the enterprise. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will report to the Head of Engineering to build, maintain and enhance a modern, cost-effective, flexible and secure IT environment for the company.
Key responsibilities: Designing and improving projects for implementation.
Assessing current systems to secure best practices and balance by complying with federal policies and procedures.
Managing broad area virtual private networks (VPNs), fixing network and connectivity issues, and ensuring sufficient network redundancy to satellites and warehouses.
Understanding system administration and how network hardware and technologies work.
Administering automated workflow tools, middleware application servers and server visualization technologies
Monitoring operating system performance
Troubleshooting applications and providing J2EE application deployment. They partner with the application development team to build, implement, and troubleshoot applications.
Optimizing performance of databases, networks, applications, and servers.
Serving as configuration managers to create, apply, and enforce processes for promoting all infrastructure components from the development environment to the testing, demonstrating, and generating environments.
Installing components on networks and servers and ensuring they work in tandem and can be executed without compilation errors in various platforms and environments.
Managing the host environment to ensure proper tuning and sufficient capacity
Sharing knowledge across organizations and participating in client projects
Integrating and leading programs across organizations.
Ensuring the smooth flow of data throughout an organization
Managing the security of computer systems and inter-application information transfers.
Requirements (Qualifications/Experience/Competencies) 10 years of overall work experience in the commercial and/or enterprise IT space.
Sound understanding of broader Data Centre technologies (Server, Storage, Networks, Server Virtualisation, etc.)
Experience in designing and deploying applications for Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/G)
Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and IAC
Design and deliver multi-tiered application infrastructure, including design changes to existing services.
Understand and apply IT security best practices, principles, and accreditations (ISO27001) to create high-level and low-level design elements as per project requirements.
Understand complex networking topologies and technologies.
Strong communicator, capable of understanding business requirements and translating them into IT approaches.
Create relevant build and design standards that promote re-use and shorten the delivery lifecycle of infrastructure assets. Participate in architecture design reviews and provide appropriate architecture governance.
Track record of successfully achieving project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Industry certification and knowledge of architecture and delivery frameworks are distinct advantages.
Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science / Engineering
