What are my responsibilities?
- Create single-line diagrams (based on mechanical layout), power calculations & dimensioning of the system to ensure that rules of voltage drop, short circuit current, and selectivity are fulfilled.
- Analyze all tender requirements of Panels, Sub Main, and Field Distribution Boards to ensure panels are designed according to the customer’s requirements.
- Carry out power distribution calculations considering all the elements of BHS systems (such as motor loads, lighting loads, UPS, or any ancillary systems) to ensure the designed panels (MDP / LDP / SMDB / FDB /etc.) meet the project requirements.
- Create detailed design layouts and wiring diagrams using ePLAN with pre-defined templates complying with industrial practices and international standards such as EN, BS, DEWA, SASO, etc.
- Generate BOQ/BOM and purchase requisitions and material ordering in SAP, documentation, and layout submittals from concept design, through detail design and final design to stakeholders and active involvement in the approval process before issuing the drawings to the manufacturers and for site installation.
- Review engineering drawings, analyze the design, and develop necessary project documentation such as material submittals, functional design specs, detailed design specs, and Operation & Maintenance training manuals related to electrical, controls, and general project requirements.
- Work closely and coordinate with Proposals, Mechanical, PLC Commissioning & Software, Installation, Planning & Procurement, and logistics teams to ensure the designed system is functional per the project requirements and meets the project schedule.
- Ensure all project quality procedures applicable for design are being followed. This enables all aspects of the project to be achieved towards meeting design needs.
- Responsible for following occupational health, safety, security, environment, and quality as stipulated in the Project HSSE Plan and Project Quality Plan, respectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in electrical design and installation practices in the Logistics automation domain, specifically in Baggage Handling or Cargo Handling Systems.
- Strong experience with ePLAN P8, AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prior knowledge of Trunking & cable layout design with clear installation practices.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design and communication protocols such as Profinet/Profibus, use of software tools like SIMARIS, ETAP, etc. along with SIEMENS products would be an added advantage.
- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to engage internal & external stakeholders, and good to have worked in a multicultural environment.
- PLC knowledge would be an advantage.
