McDermott Hiring for Materials Engineering Manager (Pipelines Production) Job at Dubai Full Time

Job Overview:

Responsible and accountable for all Materials Engineering activities for PPG, including the creation and management of the Welds and Pipe materials testing plans for project ECA’s. This will include CTR’s, KPI creation and management, manpower plans and overall scheduling. Specific focus on Environmental testing, e.g. sour service

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and management for all Materials Engineering activities
• Is accountable for all materials engineering initiatives, financially, scheduling, manpower and equipment
• Responsible for tying in with operations / production, design, PMT and the McDermott Global Materials Community, to ensure appropriate materials testing requirements are being applied for specific applications.
• Implements Materials Engineer strategy for cost effect testing for project ECA requirements.
• Responsible Materials Engineering budgets and schedules.
• Maintains adequate levels of competent personnel within the department and mentors staff for succession planning.
• Develops and promotes a culture in line with the company’s values through the functional group
• Communicates and maintains relationships with key suppliers and vendors for materials testing, specifically related to ECA inputs and sour service requirements.
• Maintains an understanding of competition and innovation in the industry to monitor upcoming changes
• Other duties related to pipeline production materials engineering, as directed by Senior Director – PPG.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Degree in Engineering preferable – Experience in lieu is acceptable
• Over 10 years within the offshore construction industry primarily within pipeline production and materials engineering for ECA
• Significant experience in rigid pipeline production materials engineering
• Conversant with the ECA process for Girth Welds in pipelines
• Experience of engaging with multi-functional / discipline teams

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Ability to provide leadership and management within the newly formed pipeline production group – Materials department.
• Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
