Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Standards and Management
Reporting HSE performance of the company to management in timely manner.
Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the day-to-day operation of the company in environment friendly and safe manner
Ensuring that all staff are trained and supervised continuously and have sufficient knowledge especially technically well-versed with the operations.
Coordination of the management reviews / Safety review meeting to ensure continued effectiveness, improvement and suitability of integrated management system and practices in timely manner
Ensure effective corrective actions on HSE incidents to avoid reoccurrence
To monitor that HSE system is effective and implemented as per laid down procedures.
To monitor those records are retained, indexed and properly stored.
To take decisions in conformance with HSE system.
Conducting Tool box talk at regular interval to create awareness of HSE system
Communication of HSE related issues to external / legal authority as required
Conducting risk and environment impact assessment by involving people to take actions to mitigate the risk
Maintain Legal register and ensure compliance to all legal requirements.
Conduct a safety program in conjunction with the other departments.
Patrol the work area periodically to verify that the work is carried out under safe conditions, with no violations of HSE requirements.
2. People Management
Be a role model for your direct reports and lead by example in everything that you do.
Encourage open honest feedback from direct reports and follow up / action as necessary..
Assist the Unit Manager in grievance handling and disciplinary actions as necessary.
Ensure skill development of all staff within the business identifying future talent potential.
Set KRA’s for direct reports and conduct performance appraisal as per the company schedule.
Oversee staff deployment and drive motivation levels of the direct reports.
Encourage and lead Team building / Customer care initatives.
Qualifications
Basic Qualification / Education / Vocational Training
A recognized Degree in the field of Health & Safety with the knowledge of fire safety, Safety management in Building/Mall Facilities
Advanced Qualification / Certification / Specialist Training Desired Certifications:
NEBOSH- IGC, NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent, Chartered level of IOSH membership, Lead auditor certificate ISO45001, Food safety certifications -HACCP
Engineering background is an advantage for the role.
Minimum Experience: 6 -10 years
Specific / Relevant Experience: 4 Years in Health & Safety
