MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Drive the development and management of obsolescence strategies and mitigations Develop Monitoring program to identify obsolescence risks. Investigate potential mitigations for obsolete and near obsolete components. Develop obsolescence health, financial and statistics reporting system and prepare periodic reports in accordance with business and client requirements. Maintain obsolescence databases and registers. Be responsible for following the implementation of relevant scenarios for obsolescence resolution in accordance with business and client requirements. Perform impact analysis on all relevant assets, and define priorities by identifying critical obsolescence cases. Establish together with key stakeholders technical and commercial offers, and provide support to proposal efforts with presentation and negotiation of the offer until stakeholders approval. Be focal point for obsolescence inputs, questions and reports. Oversee and follow-up of the implemented and/or in progress obsolescence until full implementation. Coordinate and interface with and influence a broad number of stakeholder groups (Asset Management, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Client etc.)

EXPERIENCE Minimum 5 years’ experience may be considered for this role. A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this role. Rail Industry experience will be added value. Experience with parts or components obsolescence with background in component engineering, including guiding component selection. Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system logistics/sustainment/production activities/obsolescence. Experience managing cost and schedule or associated reporting. Working knowledge of, or experience with configuration management processes as part of the product life cycle. Experience with product and procurement management systems. Experience in development of technical and cost proposals. Experience with program and project tasks, including managing cost and schedule as well as associated reporting. Experience with ‘data mining’ solutions. Experience interfacing with manufacturers and suppliers. Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings. oven multi-disciplinary leadership and technical skills to engage personnel across stakeholder teams. Proficient with the MS Office suite; specific experience with data using Excel and Access.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFCATION Must hold minimum bachelors degree in STEM, Mathematics, Computer Science or in Engineering discipline.
