Goodyear is seeking an experienced, credible and highly motivated finance executive to take a leadership role in our Emerging Markets business. The region is in good financial health, and well poised for further growth following a turnaround from negative to positive EBIT over the last three to four years.

This individual will lead a team of more than 70 finance professionals through four direct reports, dispersed across the region. A key responsibility of this role will be providing proactive and meaningful leadership to this group, focusing on succession, talent development and the overall health and performance of the team. Beyond the financial management of the business, the person will be considered a true partner and key decision maker, involved in most aspects of running the business.

Beyond the current positive performance, there remains excellent opportunities for growth, operational efficiency and overall performance for the region. Given the geographic diversity of the region it is a fundamental responsibility to stay ahead of the varying socioeconomic, political, financial, regulatory and labour market environments that exist. Further to these regional nuances, business leaders at Goodyear are expected to be agile and adaptive when facing the mix of cost inflation, supply chain disruption and COVID-related challenges that have prevailed in recent years.

The role reports to the VP Finance EMEA and VP Emerging Markets and will be based out of our regional HQ in Dubai.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building and managing a world class team – provide strong people and talent management to a team of 74 individuals across the region. Focus on building a culture that encourages collaboration, increases retention and leads to superior business performance.
• Support key strategic decisions and broader leadership of the business – beyond the typical responsibilities of a finance leader, this person will be encouraged to work close with regional leadership team on most aspects of the business and support key decision making on financial, operational and human capital matters.
• Financial leadership -provide leadership in all financial matters related to the Emerging Markets business. Drive and support the achievement of financial goals and provide in-time and accurate financial information to the local ExCom and local Management teams to allow pro-active and sound business decisions.
• Collaboration & Communication with Stakeholders – provide ongoing visibility of business intelligence and financial performance to drive and coordinate with other functions, initiatives in order to reduce cost structure and to provide cost savings.
• Provide the necessary framework and leadership to ensure compliance with Goodyear’s ethical and business standards.

KEY EXPERIENCE:

This person will be an experienced and highly credible finance executive. Motivated by the opportunity to take a critical leadership role in a highly complex and dynamic business. Ideally, candidates will possess the following:

• 
  Complex International Business Environment – experienced and well-versed in working in a complex international business. They will be organizationally savvy, capable of working in a matrix environment and influencing in a collaborative and consensus-driven organization.
• 
  International & Emerging Market Experience – experience working in international markets. Exposure to emerging market countries is preferred, but we will consider individuals who have been thrown into challenging and autonomous leadership positions in foreign markets.
• 
  Finance Leadership – a strong track record leading and managing the financial interests of a business. Strong candidates will bring a deep and broad knowledge of the Finance function including FP&A, Tax, Audit, Controlling, Manufacturing Finance, Commercial Finance, Accounting and Reporting.
• 
  Leadership Capability – experienced in building high performing Finance teams, developing talent for the organization as evidenced by advancement and success of team members. Able to inspire and drive change in the organization. Candidates will be passionate, credible and have a winning mindset that drives organizational performance and success.
• Stakeholder Management – experienced working closely with internal stakeholders in various functions at a local, regional and global level to drive business performance and capitalize on cost reduction opportunities. Experienced interfacing with external entities such as banks, tax authorities, governments, regulatory bodies and customers. Able to build robust and trusting relationships.
• 
  Exposure to businesses with a manufacturing base – ideally, candidates will be experienced in companies with an industrial manufacturing footprint to include multiple plants in different countries.
• 
  Education – University degree, MBA or equivalent degree in Finance & Accounting required. Certified Accountant or Auditing experience preferred.
• Change Management Experience – able to get groups “on board” with new processes and techniques. Posses strong influencing skills, able to create buy-in and engagement from colleagues.
