Overview

The Director of Operations will provide leadership and management for multiple stores, the commissary and logistics across the UAE and accountable for the overall operational excellence and profitability for the business. The Director will cascade KRUSH/Locale’s strategy and mission to employees and implement appropriate reward and recognition and coaching/corrective practices to align personnel with company goals. He/she is responsible for planning by prioritizing customer, employees and organizational requirements, marshaling resources to the most productive uses with the aim of creating maximum value for the company’s stakeholders, also responsible for the development, coaching and training of Operations & General Managers. The right candidate should be fanatical about customers and excellence in all aspects of managing the business, should be a multi-faceted and mature individual with a strong background in the multi-brand & multi-kitchen industry.

Role & Responsibilities:

People Development:

• Lead a culture of performance coaching to develop managers and promote key behaviors.
• Deliver appropriate training to all managers and provide them with the tools and guidance to be successful in their role.
• Responsible for the performance evaluations and developmental plans of each manager.
• Coach and motivate the managers on how to train their employees to hit their sales and profit goals.
• Succession planning in collaboration with the HR Director & L&D Manager

Strategy and Implementation:

• Maintain an excellent working knowledge and a high level of proficiency in the performance of all phases of restaurant operations.
• Set strategic and operational goals to plan, direct and align organizational and unit level objectives.
• Periodically review performance/progress against plans to support decision-making.
• Ensure that the operational infrastructure (systems, process & procedures) support the achievement of goals.

Operations :

• Communicate openly and honestly with subordinates, superiors and colleagues about plans, progress and problems in the market as they arise.
• Ensure the timely resolution of customer complaints/issues; report major concerns to the leadership team.
• Manage market compliance of the food safety program, and all local state and federal health and sanitation laws and regulations.
• Establish and maintain effective business relationships with business partners, including vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor the effectiveness of marketing programs throughout the region.
• Review and approve depreciable equipment requests and make capital spending requests.
• Ensures that assets are maintained accordingly.
• Product quality is monitored to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Finance:

• Collaborate with the leadership team and operations managers in the preparation of the annual sales and profit forecast by period, prior to the beginning of each year.
• Review periodic performance reports and issue operational directives and guidelines as needed to progress toward goals for the areas with the leadership team.
• Monitor and keep costs in control to meet or exceed budgets.

Information Technology:

• Provide guidance to IT Manager to achieve optimal operational technical capacities for KRUSH/Locale and evaluate technical needs necessary to support growth.
• Be comfortable and technology friendly as technology is employed in all aspects of KRUSH/locale’s business,

Human Resources:

• Supervise, evaluate and motivate managers to perform to the expectations of the organization.
• Determine operational staffing requirements and coordinate the hiring and training process with the HR Director and L&D Manager to ensure compliance with the business’s goals and policies.
• Partner with human resources in the resolution of employee relation issues, grievances or potential problems.
• Create and maintains a positive, supportive environment through the execution of all policies, procedures and processes.
• Succession planning in collaboration with the HR Director & L&D Manager

Supply chain and logistics:

• Vendor management.
• Work with the Finance Manager to develop an effective purchasing model.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and take advantage of economies of scale.
• Planning to ensure business continuity.
• Develop and communicate strategy and objectives for the market.

Preferred Skills & Experience Required:

• Successful experience in managing multiple operations in high growth ghost/cloud operations
• Over 10-year career in food, retail / food, e-commerce space
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to create and manager teams and build constructive relationship in geographically distributed networks
• Readiness to travel between locations
