Job Description
Job Purpose & Scope:
To handle overall production planning, scheduling and control activity of GMF. Scope includes monthly planning, weekly and daily scheduling, material planning, overall production and dispatch control, analysis and reporting, managing ERP (SAP) system for planning
Main Responsibilities:
Support in overall production planning for the entire supply chain of the foundry – Engineering, moulding, melting, and fettling in accordance with the capacity utilization of all the production centers; the plan to be aligned with overall GMF goals and planned yearly budget
Updating production plan on a weekly and monthly basis based on the incoming orders, keeping close communication with the Sales team; additionally updating the Sales team in case of any change in the production plan and schedule
Undertaking planning of resources – manpower, and equipment as per the plan and production schedule
Routine material (incl. Raw material, consumables, packaging material) requirement planning and coordination with the Procurement as per the forecast and incoming orders – Ensuring timely availability to execute the production orders; Control of inventory in coordination with Stores
In case of any changes to the sales and production plan, reallocation of capacity accordingly and identification of requirements to modify the capacity
Spearheading the capacity planning and production scheduling activity across the supply chain – Should translate long-term plan to short-term schedule
Scheduling of labor shifts and job orders on each workstation; Ensuring scheduled jobs are undertaken
Monitoring and controlling the output on a daily basis across the supply chain and ensuring OTD above 90 PERCENT as per the customer requirement
Provide the dispatch advice, coordinate with logistics and sales for the dispatch on a day-to-day basis, and ensure timely delivery from the foundry and also from the machine shop
Coordinating with the machine shop, ensuring delivery and receipt of material from the machine shop for the machined castings supply
Analysis of monthly/weekly/daily plan against the actual production and determination of corrective actions, if required
Ensuring implementation of corrective actions, reporting and analysis, and escalating the non-compliances and issues related to production and dispatches
Ensuring implementation of ERP (SAP) system for planning and routine recording of data on SAP with regard to production planning and tracking; further, routine analysis of planning data recorded in SAP
Coordinate closely with Senior Planning Engineer on a day-to-day basis for all the above-mentioned activities
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering with around 5 years of experience with production planning, scheduling, and controlling.
Must have problem-solving attitude, analytical skills, and advanced Excel knowledge.
Must have the ability to work under pressure and respond swiftly to any changes in the plans.
Must have good interpersonal skills, and clear and concise communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Arabic would be an advantage.
Experience in the industrial sector, specifically foundry is a plus.
