Currently, we are seeking for an ROCC Manager – Gatekeeper. In this role, The ROCC Manager will assist the ROCC Head with RFQ’s and coordinates responses together with the Country Organisations, the Global HoP Teams, the Trade Managers and the Commercial Owners. Equally important to supporting the Global Bid process is the role of the ROCCs to support regional drive of BD and Sector opportunities. Our ROCCs represent senior OFR management in the regions and as such have tremendous OFR knowledge as well as commercial mindset. The second focus area for the ROCCs is about proactively supporting M&S in growing OFR for BD and Sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Regional OCC and HoP support

A very important process to DGF in securing profitable OFR volumes is the Global Bid process. Not only do these large RFQs usually represent substantial volume opportunities but they also allow a truly global player like DGF to show our abilities on a global scale by aligning our approach and pricing on any lane requested by the client.

OFR Gate Keeper function

A very key role is the Gatekeeper function residing in the Regional OCC Teams.

The three main tasks involved for the Gatekeeper in the Global Bid process are:

• Bid Screening and T&C approvals
• Bid Prioritization
• Gate Keeper Instructions (GKI)
• Bid Sanity Checks

Bid Screening

• The Gatekeeper is responsible for screening the Terms & Conditions and overall business fit for DGF. The screening can either come before we have the Bid document from the client provided we have the information needed or it comes after we receive the Bid document from the client.
• The Gatekeeper is responsible for the OFR Screening also based on the “RFQ Questionnaire Tool”
• The Gatekeeper is authorized to make decisions on minor deviations from standard T&Cs as representative of the Global OFR Team. For more major deviations, consultation must be made with other regions and/or HO.

Bid Prioritization

• The Gatekeeper is responsible for assigning each screening approved bid with a pricing prioritization based on the 2 Priority pricing levels existing for GBT bids.
• The Gatekeeper may be called to attend Regional or Global TRBs to support suggested prioritization.

Gate Keeper Instruction (GKI)

• After a prioritization decision had been made, the Gatekeeper is responsible for issuing a clear Gate Keeper Instruction (GKI) that rides along with the HoP launch of the bid.

Bid Sanity Checks

• Before the bid is returned to client the Gatekeeper is responsible for checking the input to determine prioritization has been followed.
• The Gatekeeper is responsible for all export lanes out of MEA region during sanity check phase.
• The corresponding other ROCCs involved in the bid are responsible for checking their export lanes.
• Should errors be discovered the Gate Keeper/ROCC involved ensures this is corrected prior to release to client. Gatekeeper/ROCC to ensure timely, consistent and competitive response to Global RFQ’s.

Business Development Support

The ROCC assists M&S in each regions by:

• Identifying MNC /CSI accounts where we have specific OFR opportunities.
• Alerting these accounts to the Global OCC for inclusion into the OFR Client Liaison List for focused support.
• Joining M&S in joint calls and securing Regional and/or Global support needed to win business.

A special process has been developed to focus our support on potential CSI OFR opportunities.

In basically means an assigned Gatekeeper teams up early with the CSI Account Manager long before a bid is released.

Sector Support

On Global level OFR has defined OFR Liaisons for all Sectors in DGF.

The attached list shows those Global Liaisons and their function.

The ROCCs are responsible for supporting this sector approach on regional level by:

• Identifying new opportunities inside priority sectors
• Joining M&S in joint calls and securing Regional and/or Global support needed to win business.

Key Tasks:

• Gatekeeping assistance
• Bid Prioritization
• Sanity check of RFQ responses will be a vital part of day to day work
• Tariff maintenance of a selected number of customers
• Update ROCC Tracker
• Follow up on award/outcome on all bids with MEA involvement
• Coordinating pricing requests that are not going via the Global Bid Process.
• Align with Regional Trade Management for OFR FCL pricing, Regional Head of LCL for OFR LCL pricing, and CTOCC for specific origin/destination inland costs for additional lanes of MNC & CSI customers.
• Business development support
• Sector support

Essential:

• Oceanfreight/Forwarding knowledge is required
• Excellent English language skills are a must (written and oral)
• Computer literacy
• Software skills MS Word, Excel
• Excellent Excel skills are of utmost importance.
• Stress resistence
• Completed bachelor degree, preferably business related
• Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills
