Role:

Junior Tax Consultant

Reporting to:

Senior Tax Agent

Overall Scope of role

Conduct the VAT registrations and deregistration’s for all clients, preparing reports, maintain a clients’ tax database, finding tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings, identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.

Functional Responsibilities

1.

Taxation

• Take care of all VAT registration/deregistration/reimbursement/excise tax/ special requests from clients
• Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions
• Collect tax forms and tracking client paperwork, identifying potential tax credits and producing tax reports
• Following all actions until confirmation of completion and acceptance
• Complete client VAT registration or deregistration, achieving set monthly target
• Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits
• Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
• Create and manage the VAT Health Check process and documentation
• Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports
• Assist the accounting teams for any questions related to VAT
• Manage and maintain the company’s tax database

Governance

• Keep up-to-date with tax changes (VAT/Excise tax/Corporate Tax) and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
• Conduct ongoing research to maintain own understanding of governance changes and updates
• Communicate all changes to the team to ensure their own ongoing education
• Prepare topics and updates for marketing, such as social media, blog, Linked In etc marketing
• Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax law
• Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax burden

  Educational Qualifications
  Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
  Technical Qualifications
  UAE VAT Compliance Diploma recently obtained, no experienced as Tax Agent required.
  Skills & Abilities
  Good standard of MS Office and accounting software
  In depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes
  Outstanding attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
  Teamplayer
  Language
  Arabic mandatory, Excellent spoken and written English, French an advantage
