Charterhouse is working in exclusive partnership with an International Shipping company, which specialises in Husbanding, Fuel Supply, Logistics and Aviation support to its Maritime clients. As a result of increased demand, our client is in search of an Operations Specialist to work closely with the team based from their regional headquarters in Dubai.
About the role
This role will be responsible for all matters relating to the service and supplies of contracts, in the husbanding field in the UAE and across the GCC region, in line with the terms detailed in client contracts and company guidelines. The Operations Specialist will ensure strong lines of communication between the company, the client and the local agents, based in the various ports, in order to prepare ship visits and delivery of agreed services to the highest standard.
In conjunction, this role will prepare all trade services contracts whilst analysing and negotiating prices, ensuring the best economic outcome. This role will also attend regular on-site operations, in order to monitor conduct, train agents and oversee any audits or emergencies. There will be frequent travel involved, often at short notice therefore a high degree of flexibility is required in this role.
About you
To be considered for this role, the candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record within a maritime, shipping or logistics environment, for an organisation which has operations across the GCC region. The successful candidate will have experience in executing operational services and contract management.
Our client is looking for someone who is self-motivated, able to remain calm under pressure and has the ability to effectively problem solve. The ideal candidate must be fluent in English to a professional level, both written and verbal and should be able to travel at short notice to markets within the GCC.
