Job description We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) with 4 years’ experience in Residential Interior Fit out & Joinery.

Job Summary The Quantity Surveyor (QS) is part of the shared services team and will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team with respect to all financial aspects and contractual matters in the project. He/she will assist in the review and certification of interim payments, project variations and other financial matters.

The QS will assist the Senior Procurement Manager (SPM)/Contracts Manager in the analysis and evaluation of all contractor claims by the Contractor and other contractual matters.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the SPM/Contracts Manager in all matters relating to the financial and contractual aspects of the project.
• Provide support to the SPM/Contracts Manager on all financial and contractual matters throughout the course of the work in the project.
• Participate and assist in the preparation of the minutes in all commercial meetings as required.
• Liaise with the SPM/Contracts Manager to ensure prompt submittal and completeness of Contractors monthly payment applications and assist the SPM/Contracts Manager in finalizing the payment certificates, performing and checking of measurement of Work for: a) Interim Payments, b) Work executed against Provisional Sums and c) Variations.
• Maintain and streamline all cost and quantity records.
• Undertake measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities in consultation with RE’s.
• Evaluate the unit rates for new work items, recording the details and monitoring the day works process, assisting in preparing variation orders and in evaluating claims and present to the SPM/Contracts Manager for review.
• Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of entitlement of Contractors claims for review and issuance by the SPM/Contracts Manager.
• Assist on contractual matters related to financial issues.
• Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements.
• Assist the SPM in the preparation of financial statements for monthly report.
• Assist in the auditing of payments to Contractors as required.
• Check and record measurements of completed work.
• Monitor contract final cost estimate.
• Assist in the preparation of Final Account with all supporting documentation. Qualification / Experience / Skills
• Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field and 10 years demonstrable experience in Quantity Surveying on major rail, road, highway and general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.
• Must have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
• Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills
