BB Energy Hiring for MEA Tax Compliance Manager (on-site) Job at Dubai Full Time

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced tax accountant to take up the role of MEA Tax Compliance Manager. The successful candidate will have ownership of VAT, corporate tax and economic substance compliance in the UAE, including the VAT return preparation and filing, the application of VAT refund claims, the support during tax audits, the filing of economic substance notifications and reports. He / She will support the Group’s tax and accounting function to prepare for the implementation of the corporate tax in the UAE and shall be responsible for corporate tax filings.

As part of the regional role, the successful candidate will maintain relationship with external advisors and shall be responsible for timely and correct VAT compliance of the UAE companies in other countries as well as VAT, withholding and corporate tax compliance in MEA region.

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong technical background (both tax and accounting), ability to work with remote team members, be organized and enjoy working in a challenging industry and dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

The position includes the following responsibilities:

• Prepare and file VAT returns and refunds in UAE
• Liaise on a monthly and/or quarterly with external consultants to provide data for VAT compliance in Middle East, Europe and Africa and approve tax workings for filing.
• Prepare and file UAE economic substance annual notifications and reports
• Support the UAE business in responding to VAT questions of the business and operations teams. On a need basis, review the tax clauses in purchase/sales contracts.
• Work closely with the tax and accounting teams in implementing the UAE corporate tax legislation at systems and processes level, tax grouping and CIT tax return preparation and filing.
• Be the primary point of contact with local external accountants and tax compliance teams in certain African countries and be responsible for timely filing of all taxes.
• Provide assistance and support on tax audits in MEA region on all taxes.

Keep up with legislative developments in the GCC and selectively in certain African countries

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional qualification such as CPA, CTA or similar will be considered a plus.
• At least 7 years’ proven working experience in a tax compliance role with accounting/tax/audit firms. Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry or in a regional tax controlling role within a multinational organization will be preferred
• Excellent use of accounting software (MS Dynamics), data analytics tools and MS Excel
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (internally and externally)
• Manage priorities and work under pressure in a dynamic and challenging environment.
