As a commercial focused Pre-Award Contract Manager you’ll be responsible for all activities providing the necessary support on Commercial Contract Reviews and Contract Drafting wherever Customer requests Baker Hughes to propose the draft Contract looking at the Scope of Work in depth with the Commercial Manager with Effective Negotiation Skills and onward guidance to Project Team / Post Award Contracts Manager on Post-Award contractual administration & management. You should be well versed with Terms & Conditions of the Contract and the Management of Claims. Specific emphasis should be given on the understanding of Liabilities and Indemnities, Force Majeure, Termination Obligations, understanding of Insurance requirements at construction sites, also involving understanding of definition, management, and execution of risk modeling activities in support of the contract or project, Superficial understanding of definition, management, and execution of contract estimating processes and activities to support project reviews, etc.
As Lead Commercial Contract Manager, you will be responsible for:
Pre-Award Customer Contract Reviews
Contract Drafting wherever Customer requests Baker Hughes to propose the draft Contract looking at the Scope of Work in depth with the Commercial Manager
Reviewing and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Contract. Assist the Commercial Manager during internal transfer from Commercial to Execution Project team keeping in view full Contract/Risk info of the Project.
Assistance the project team including Post-Award Contract Manger to administer the Contract whenever required.
Assistance to the Project Teams over Drafting contractual letters replies and notifications keeping in view the negotiations with the Customer whenever required.
Understanding of MOUs, NDAs, Consortium Agreements, FIDIC-99, LOGIC, and other forms of contracts
Understanding of different types of contracts
Understanding of Contract Change Order management.
Understanding of claims writing for various issues, including extension of time, corresponding financial losses escalations, loss of productivity, deviations from tender document, execution of additional items and project acceleration.
Contractor/Suppliers claim prevention and recovery. Co-ordinate with Project stakeholders like contractors, suppliers, etc. to ensure that all relevant parties are aware in advance of potential claims.

To be successful in this role you will:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Prior contract administration, Claims writing and management experience (min 5 years)
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Oil & Gas / Construction claims negotiation experience.
Ability to handle many complex issues concurrently and able to manage multiple contract reviews at a time.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Advanced skills in contract terms and conditions interpretation and development with basic understanding of contract law.
Personal computer and software experience including preparation of complex computer graphics presentations.
