LOCATION

This position is located at our corporate office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Aman Group is looking for a Legal Counsel to be based in Dubai, with some travel required in the region as required by the business. The Legal Counsel will cover both development and operations work within the legal context and will support the rest of the legal team. The Legal Counsel will report to the Director of Legal and Development and work primarily with the Development team on their based in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the development team to provide support for the Group’s operations in the Middle East region and beyond, including hotel management and development of new projects. Draft, negotiate and review contracts and other legal documents (including hotel management agreements, land contracts and ancillary documents) as part of the Group’s efforts to expand its hotel and residences portfolio in the region and globally. Provide legal advice and support to the development team and advise on legal issues, including coordinating with hotel owners and internal stakeholders on contract variations, compliance and other hotel related matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of experience, with some time spent in an in-house legal position within the hospitality industry (previous experience in the Middle East would be a big advantage). Ability to expeditiously identify and assess issues and provide legally sound recommendations consistent with good business practices and reason. Strong drafting, problem-solving and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure while producing a high volume of accurate work. Experience in advising clients from a practical and strategic perspective, with the ability to deliver pragmatic legal advice on hospitality-related matters. Strong academic record with a law degree from a reputable university. Outstanding analytical, writing, communication and client-servicing skills. * Ability to work independently and to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
