Accountabilities
The jobholder works in the Scheduled Embodiment Solutions team of the A/C Structure Embodiment & Repair (AMESBCM) within the Customer Support Maintenance & Engineering department.
Working in both make and buy contexts, the role of AMESBCM encompasses the management of Major Repairs, aircraft conversions, end of lease and upgrades, the retrofit of modifications on in-service aircraft.
The jobholder’s main responsibilities are:
. The management and delivery of all technical activities relating to a particular project related to aircraft conversions, end of lease and upgrades, and the retrofit of modifications on in-service aircraft. This encompasses definition, preparation, spare management, planning and launching all related tasks linked to the project including working party as well as the follow up of the embodiment phase.
. To ensure that the AMESBC5 deliverables are in accordance with Customer expectations, Airbus and Regulatory procedures, and are in line with profitability objective by mastering cost, quality and lead-time. This involves being part of Airbus Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Approval.
. Risk management. Anticipation and mitigation of any potential technical issue that may prevent the on time, on cost and on quality delivery of the project.
Dimensions
A. Budgets:
o Repairs services: around 100 M$ per year charged to Customers.
B. Other dimensions relevant to the position:
o Out of approximately 250 Projects to support annually, 25% includes
embodiment management.
o 230 000 WP productive man hours per year (global department figures)
o WP personnel assigned: teams up to 30 people.
Main activities
The jobholder’s main responsibilities are:
A. ROM estimates.
In response to a Customer request is responsible for quickly providing the relevant technical data relating to the definition, preparation and embodiment phases that will allow Embodiment Operations Manager from AMESBCM to establish a ROM and where necessary, a quotation.
B. Aircraft retrofit, modification, conversion.
The Technical Solutions Manager pilots the technical tasks of the projects where Airbus is managing assessment, definition, material sourcing and embodiment. This may be either in MAKE or BUY embodiment context.
o with the objective to ease the technical solution embodiment.
o Identify the relevant material needed (parts, tooling) and focus on long lead time items with SOO Spare organization and suppliers.
o Issue embodiment planning and identify the proper resources with the objective to be competitive on the market (lead time v/s cost) in order to contribute to the profitability of AMESBC
o Coordinating the embodiment technical preparation including Work Order,
identification of the special tooling and consumables requirements.
o Ensuring that the job cards are produced on time, are fit for purpose and have been independently checked.
o Provide back office or on-site support during MAKE embodiment phase with
management of Defect Reports, AWOs and of approved data such as RDAS or TA upon request.
o Manage BUY embodiment solutions with the issuance of the Technical
Specifications for any Call For Tender and contribute to the MRO selection.
o Coordinating the embodiment input of Suppliers and Part 145 subcontractors.
C. On site assistance.
Part of the scope of job, the Technical Solutions Manager can be involved on technical assistance during repair embodiment phase performed by the Customer. It shall:
o Understand customer needs.
o Represent Airbus image.
o Provide engineering advices as well as embodiment advices.
o Ensure interface between the Customer and Airbus home base.
D. Outsourcing services.
In the frame of BUY embodiment solutions, the Technical Solutions Manager contribute to specifications for required outsourced engineering services i.e. Technical Services, MRO, GTAs, EOs, etc. Working in a MFT context, the jobholder is required to pilot the definition, CFT, production and receipt of deliverables.
E. Contribute to the AMESBCM stand by service (24/24H and 365 days a year)
representing 4/5 weeks a year.

Outputs
A. Timely and cost efficient technical projects deliverables that comply with Regulatory and Airbus Quality requirements.
B. Timely and cost efficient technical projects deliverables that comply with SORE P&L objectives.
C. The provision of all technical inputs necessary to ensure the on time, on cost and on quality completion of the projects to enhance Airbus Customer satisfaction.
D. Demonstration of full adherence to the Airbus and Regulatory procedures necessary to maintain Airbus MOA.
E. Delivery of required documentation (Repair Instructions, Tech. Spec’s, Work Order, RDAS, TA..) to provide top quality, on time and cost products.
