We are looking for a Senior Risk Engineer – Engineering Lines & Construction to join our team and play a key role in our Middle East Risk Engineering Team. Reporting to the Risk Engineering Manager, this individual will provide technical support to the Engineering Lines & Construction Underwriting team and deliver a high quality and cost-effective service.

Job Accountabilities

As Senior Risk Engineer – Engineering Lines & Construction, your role will involve:

• Assess the quality of complex risks according to appropriate standard(s) and assess loss potential in accordance with agreed definitions.
• Support Engineering Lines & Construction Underwriting team by conducting site surveys and desktop reviews and provide sound engineering opinion.
• Support internal & external customers by identifying, and reducing the risks individually, and on an overall account basis.
• Provide appropriate risk improvement advice, review loss investigations (including both trend and root cause analysis) and implement lessons learnt.
• Share technical expertise with colleagues, business partners and customers through training delivery or participation relevant industry seminars.
• Grow and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships and collaborate with both to develop appropriate service plans.

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
• 5 or more years of industrial or engineering experience.
• Additional qualifications in Risk Management or Professional Certifications would be beneficial.
• Self-starter, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively relate to individuals at all levels – from site technicians up to company CEOs.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to write detailed reports of a varied technical nature.
• Member of engineering associations is preferable.
• Experience of working with international engineering standards and codes
• Working knowledge of fire protection and detection system
• Ability and willingness to travel within MEA region.
