Commercial manager is responsible for the budget and keep on top of all the costs involved in large-scale construction projects. They source the services and resources needed, negotiating costs with other suppliers. They oversee projects and monitor plans to ensure deadlines are met, projects stay within budget and work is up to standard.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing, recommending revisions to, and approving all required contractual documentation.
• Review contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance with prescribed procurement requirements and conducts fee negotiations
• Leading procurement process of main contractors including addendum and PTCs.
• Management and review of the contractual aspects of large complex construction projects and evidence of successful negotiations of substantial claims and variations
• Play a leading and pivotal role in supporting the project executives, leaders and project managers in monitoring and controlling the performance of contracted services to ensure services are effective, meet statutory requirements and deliver the desired outcomes
• Coordinate all matters regarding contract administration, claims, disputes, contract interpretation and cost analysis
• Make knowledgeable recommendations regarding contract procurement and types of underlying contracts and agreements.
• Lead the continuous improvement of commercial processes through refining contract formulation activities, systems, and procedures.
• Prepare claims to effectively negotiate with contractors,
• Formulate suggestions to remedy failure to meet contractual obligations
• Responsible for all financial contract management activities including the review and the approval of payment certificates, PS management, changes management.
• Responsible for the timely preparation of legal and contractual documents such as Request for Proposals (RFP), Instruction & etc.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
• Prior experience working on projects in the UAE
• Minimum 15 years of prime contract administration experience on large scale buildings projects
• Prior experience on FIDIC, claims handling and Engineer’s determination
• Possess the exceptional interpersonal skills required to productively collaborate, negotiate, reach consensus and finalize project decisions.
