Webb Fontaine is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to prepare financial reports, perform account reconciliations, maintain the general ledger, prepare tax returns, assist with audit preparations, and perform other accounting duties as assigned. We are looking for someone with strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

What you will do:

• Monitor and record financial transactions for the Groups various entities by Group policies and procedures and applicable local regulations

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations (for domestic and international accounts) and other month-end reconciliations (Corporate Credit Cards, travel expense reports, etc.)

• Record closing journal entries (adjusting entries, reconciling accounts, etc.) at each period end and keep the supporting schedules updated

• Record intercompany transactions and assist with reconciliation at period end (intercompany matrix and balances confirmation)

• Reconciliation of accounts payable/receivable (sub-ledgers) including aging balances analysis

• Assist with VAT returns preparation, recording VAT payment/refund, and ensuring prompt payment/refund

• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information

• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options

• Maintain organized, accurate, and thorough accounting records

• Ad-hoc assignments as required

What you will bring in:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance is required, and a professional title is preferred (i.e., CPA)

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting

• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures, mainly IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) à Branch accounting is a plus

• Knowledge of VAT regulations in the UAE (& GCC is a plus)

• Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e., Sage X3)

• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

• Experience with general ledger functions

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Fluency in English

• Fluency in French will be a plus
