Finance and Operations manager
My client from logistics industry is looking for Finance And operations manager
With minimum 5 years of experience in the logistics field handling finance as well as operations.
Key responsibilities include;
1. Oversees the finance management and production of sound financial information by the finance team and managing the accounts payable department and is ultimately responsible for the efficient management of the purchase ledger function and the payment of all company invoices in a timely fashion
2. Knowledge of applicable Taxes
3. Production of accounts, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, management of the ledger department, and all other accounting related activities
4. Liaising with the operational managers to produce monthly management accounts, providing commentary to senior management on significant variances.
5. Set up and maintain fixed asset register and calculating depreciation.
6. Ensure smooth banking relationship
7. Finalize the Annual accounts for yearly Audit
8. Ensure the smooth running of the Accounts Payable department
9. Performing the month end closing process and reconciliation of the ledgers
10. Maintain excellent working relationship with external supplier
11. Ensure the Accounts Payable team are replying to all queries in a timely manner and all queries are dealt with correctly and efficiently
12. Provide day to day management of the Purchase Ledger team motivating and leading the team you will also lead the way in developing processes and efficiency
13. Performance management of staff and monthly appraisals
14. Regular reporting and analysis to key senior managers in the business
15. A good knowledge & understanding of the Accounts Payable function with a minimum of three years’ experience managing the Accounts Payable
16. Will have experience of processing and payment of invoices in multiple currencies as well as experience of working in an outsourced Accounts Payable function
17. Proven experience within a high-volume accounts payable environment
18. Oversee and process bills, checks, invoicing, and other accounts payable and receivables in conjunction with our firm.
19. Manager vendor relationship to ensure proper payment, best value addition, and high performance.
20. Staff support in using accounting system to generate financial reports. Tracking and reconciling vacation and sick leave balances, and managing staff holiday, vacation, and sick leave requests
Operations role:
1. Oversee best freight forwarding process of goods through air / sea / land, imports, exports and cross trades.
2. Prioritize work based on requests, evaluate, and set stakeholder expectations
3. Develop and maintain strong and efficient flow of communication processes with customers, vendors, and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
4. Oversee revenue, profit and cost controls and improvement of safety, quality, and delivery
5. Negotiate contracts and optimize operations network
6. Identify and build relations with key Agents
7. Set up business plan for the operation’s team; create and monitor KPIs against targets
8. Ensure proper staffing, utilization, and management of the team
9. Train and mentor staff for action and conformance of norms and practices
10. Manage the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery service provided to our customer
11. Prepare and present productivity, performance, and analysis with recommendations
12. Ensure optimal utilization of the operational systems
13. Propose and implement activities that increase workflow and efficiency and reduce waste in time and resources
