Job Purpose

Senior Accounts Payable reporting to the ME Finance Controller

We require a technically strong accountant with at least 5 years’ experience working within a Shared Service function and 3 years of managing teams.

This person will be a strong team player with experience working in an environment with conflicting pressures and heavy workloads and they will be required to work on their own initiative when needing to manage unusual and ad-hoc requirements.

The successful candidate will be a key Business Partner to our Suppliers, whilst ensuring minimum financial governance standards are met. A minimum of 5 years Middle East based MNC industry experience is essential.

Key Selected Accountabilities

Team Management

§ Management of the UAE shared service team ensuring resources are managed and objectives are met.

Accounts Payable & Business Expense claims

§ Liaison with the business to ensure Purchase Orders are managed to optimise system capability and costs being charged correctly first time. This is a key improvement area of the business following the implantation of a new Microsoft ERP system.

§ Management of Country supplier payment process

§ Ensuring supplier invoices are compliant with local VAT standards for the appropriate Country and accurate application and accounting of applicable WHT.

§ Accounts Payable cost accruals in accordance of the monthly timetable.

§ Trade Payables balance sheet reconciliation in accordance with the monthly timetable.

§ Responding to accounts payable queries as and when required.

Accounts receivable

§ Timely allocation of cash receipt, ensuring cash flow forecasts are maintained.

§ Generation of payroll journals and relevant payroll recons.

Bank interface and payroll payment process

§ Ensuring the timely process of external bank uploads and subsequent payment of monthly Payroll

§ Team player. The team support each and work together where requirements can be simultaneous and conflicting. The ability to work with the team, agree the priorities and manage time pressures are paramount.
