The more satisfied agency customers we have, the more attractive we will be to content providers such as airlines, railways, hotels, and car rental companies.
What does a great Solutions Consultant do?
To maintain and evolve a strong consultancy framework to drive proactive, strategic, consultative, and insight-driven solutions approach to help the customer in achieving their short, mid and long-term vision. Work in partnership with sales teams to supplement pre and post sales activities and programs in the region, ensures that the needs of customers are fully understood and satisfied whilst generating new revenue streams for the region through solutions innovation and consultancy.
The role holder is ultimately responsible for customer satisfaction in conjunction with the sales organization of the success of all projects
This is a highly visible role so this individual must be competent and capable of regularly liaising with, influencing, and communicating to all levels of senior stakeholders internally and externally across a highly matrixed environment.
Responsibilities:
Follow a strong but flexible consultancy framework to capture customer requirements, map business/technical workflows and deliver solutions, which remove cost, deliver value and enable business competitiveness for our customers.
Partner with key stakeholders in the region to support complex sales cycle, aligned to regional customer strategy and goals. The role holds full accountability and ownership of end-to-end delivery of the assigned customer projects.
Provide expertise in enhancing solutions that adversely impact the customer experience with our technology and its adoption. Collaborate with right stakeholders internally in articulating customer pain points to support right prioritization and development planning.
Define and identify alternate solutions (third party, or process) in collaboration with Partner Relations team to meet customer need where we have no product, process in existence today.
Ensure that customer solutions design is within Travelport technical strategic direction and where appropriate make recommendations for strategy change and improvement. Publish and share discovery and solution design proposal documentations across all business units as appropriate.
Actively participate in the formulation of bids, RFI’s, RFP’s, RFQ’s. Present technical solutions and provide pre- and post-sales support to the customer on technology/technical matters.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of competitive information, new emerging technologies, technical standards, development methodologies, and innovations in the industry.
What we look for/who would prosper in this role?
Experience in Global Distribution systems is highly desired
Graduate callable or relevant work experience;
Fluent in English – Arabic and/or Mandarin will be considered an additional advantage
5+ years’ experience in travel industry, software development and/or in the professional services area with Consultative, Solutions Selling and Technical delivery experience.
Knowledge on any of the Travelport’s API is a plus.
Proven experience within customer-focused/centric approach role/organization.
Ability to network, collaborate and communicate effectively across a matrixed organization.
Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade multiple stakeholders globally (at all levels).
Ability to manage highly pressurized situations and adapt to rapidly changing environments and requirements.
Able to think strategically and challenge current technical thinking.
Knowledge of competitor’s components and solutions and other solution providers in the travel industry.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt approach and style to suit the audience.
Dynamic and self-motivated with high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Good planning and project management skills.
