The job:

We have a great opportunity for you to grow your career as a Sr Key Account Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific within our Corporate function. The role is based in Dubai (UAE) covering the Middle East territory, where you will be leading a selected list of key accounts across Academia, Industry, Biotechnology, Healthcare and Diagnostics to represent a “One Thermo Fisher”.

The role will interact with the key accounts across these segments to improve the company’s overall business relationship by demonstrating the Thermo Fisher Scientific value proposition via cross-divisional collaboration to develop partnerships and meet annual operating plan, market share growth and customer allegiance to positively impact account revenue.

Previous sales or business development experience of analytical or life science instrumentation is an advantage, however, we are open to considering applications from candidates with experience using relevant instrumentation in a laboratory environment who are considering a change in career direction.

This is a field based role, with a territory covering UAE, Qatar and Bahrain. You will be on the road, travelling within your territory c.3 days per week, with the remaining time spent working from home. Some overnight stays will be required. Candidates must be based in Dubai.

What will you do?

• Translating deep customer insights into meaningful partnership opportunities that deliver value to both our customers and Thermo Fisher. You will be driving overall account strategy, improving our breadth and depth of capabilities to build high-impact, innovative, science- and customer-centric solutions
• Use your knowledge and translate customer insights into partnership opportunities that will deliver value to both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific
• Develop strong relationships between Thermo Fisher and strategic partners and act as a primary interface to lead governance activities, opportunity identification and resolution of critical issues
• Conduct periodic reviews with strategic key accounts and cross divisional teams to ensure alignment of strategy and collaboration between customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific as defined in the Partnership Account Plan
• Communicate internally via Account Management Team and Monthly Business Reviews on the account landscape, and relationship sensitivities to enhance diversity of spend

Key Accountabilities:

• Be accountable for the commercial performance of the focus account and deliver on revenues in alignment with the annual operating plan
• Develop and lead the strategic accounts using tools such as Partnership Account Plan as part of standard work procedure to drive growth strategies and ensure a double digit compounded annual growth rate
• Work proactively in a matrix environment optimizing the best cross functional resources in sales, service and supply chain to establish high customer allegiance scores above company average at the focus accounts
• Leverage market intelligence and market trends to select and grow the number of key accounts in the assigned territory

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering, preferably with an MBA
• Several years’s experience in handling major accounts in Academia, Industry, BioPharma, Healthcare and Diagnostics segments
• Ability to effectively collaborate and influence internal and external collaborators in a matrix set up
• Willingness to learn the technical aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s value proposition
• Strong motivation to serve our customers and over-achieve in a dynamic matrix environment
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external collaborators
• Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a dynamic business environment

• Valid driver’s licence for Dubai
• Fluent in English, proficient in Arabic
