Job Description:
A POS Engineer is responsible for development, implementation, and expert level support of The First Group’s Point-of-Sale system. The selected person will work on mission critical POS and related systems focusing on building software capabilities that enhance the client experience and limiting disruptions to operations by ensuring maximum up times.
- Develop, test, and implement enhancements to the companies Point-of-Sale system.
- Promote operational excellence by providing expert level support to help desk teams and identifying root cause solutions to common critical issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering team members to design and implement software solutions to satisfy business requirements.
- Keep abreast of latest updates to the Oracle Simphony Hospitality suite of products and other software engineering concepts and toolsets and provide recommendations based on knowledge of these products.
- Collaborate and communicate regarding software system status, work progress and issue resolution.
- Maintain positive working relationship with peers and management.
- Promote continuous improvement of practices, systems, and tools.

Desired Skill & Expertise:
- 3+ years’ experience programming Oracle Simphony POS extensibilities and/or Micros System Interface Module (SIM)
- 3+ years’ experience with Oracle Enterprise Management Console (EMC)
- Experience programming in C# is required.
- Experience programming in PowerShell, Python, XAML, batch scripting, or HTML5 is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum practices.
