With 650 guest rooms and suites, the four-star TRYP by Wyndham Dubai is currently the largest TRYP by Wyndham hotel in the world! Centrally located in Al Barsha Heights formerly known as TECOM, the hotel will be within easy reach of popular attractions including the Mall of the Emirates, Palm Jumeirah and the Expo 2020 site. Job Description:
- Ensure the efficient operation of such food production in areas in charge of by the Pastry Chef.
- Ensure safe, quality food products and complete guest satisfaction.
- Responsible to maintain all standards set by the Pastry Chef and establishing the manner and means to train personnel in his/her area of responsibility, according to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain the highest food quality and controls for all food products served in all areas, accordingly.
- Share overall responsibility of proper storing procedures, food orders, food cost, equipment, sanitation, and hygiene with the Chief Steward and the entire Stewarding team.
- Comply and follow the highest health, sanitation, and safety, Standards necessary in food handling and overall cleanliness.
- He guarantees that menus, recipes, methods, pictures, and specifications are given by the Pastry Chef is followed exactly.
- Attend required training related to HACCP, on-job, and other subjects.
- Communicates politely and displays courtesy to guests and internal customers.
- Provides direction to the Kitchen helpers, including Cooks, Kitchen Attendants, and Stewards.
- Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest or internal customer comment, and other relevant information.
- Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships.
- Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.
- Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled.
- Prepares in advance food, beverage, material, and equipment needed for the service.
- Maintains a clean and hygienic work area.
- Implements the hotel and department regulations, policies, and procedures including but not limited to: • Health and Safety • Grooming
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines.
- Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid, fire, and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
Desired Skill & Expertise:
- At least 2+ years experience in a similar role at a 4/5*Property .
- Good knowledge and practical skills with the pastry division.
- Proficiency in English
- Preferably Diploma in culinary or related trainings/certificates.
- Food safety certificate is a must.
- Knowledge of current food trends.
