Job Description:
The Director Revenue Management (DRM) is responsible for continuous assessment of all assets and income channels by analyzing data, reviewing hotels performance against forecasts and budgets, and by challenging operations revenue generation strategies. Ensures agreed revenue goals are met and optimized through on-going review and corrective direction.
This role also includes but not limited to –
- Design and control a continuous pro-active, selling strategy and action plan, which will drive the optimization of hotel profits.
- Support hospitality assets yield efforts, via analysis and reporting that ensure that all segments and distribution channels are mined for revenue opportunities based on budget, forecast, pace and market demand.
- Understand market dynamics and monitor competitor pricing to grow revenue.
- Review generated revenue forecasts for all assets and challenge property revenue team.
- Understand, investigate, and extract data from any relevant system needed for problem solving and analysis.
- Oversea the cluster revenue management team and operational performance to ensure aligned direction.
- Ensure revenue growth and achievement of budgeted targets in RevPAR and RGI market penetration.
- Prepare necessary data required for the asset management team to review operator yearly budgets.
- Review and critique operator yearly revenue budgets
- Provide weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances, and budget comparisons
- Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated, and working to full capacity pricing concepts.
- Evaluate performance of distribution partners and contracted rates
- Analyze overall monthly revenue performance and provide summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies
- Conduct quarterly property revenue performance review to develop an action plan
- Assess strategy for all 3rd party distribution.
- Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
- Contribute to any other work as required by the SVP Hotels and Asset Management.
Desired Skill & Expertise:
- Proven and strong analytical and technical skills with high proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong knowledge in market dynamics and hotel technology including Revenue Management Systems, Hotel Reservation Systems, and Distribution Systems.
- Excellent individual initiative and objective-oriented drive with strong propensity for attention to detail.
- General understanding of hotel operations and the lodging industry, real estate markets and trends, as well as the important metrics that define them.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and time management skills
- Possess practical experience of the revenue management function and exposure to the GCC markets.
- Must possess very good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work well as part of a team as well as independently.
- Strong ability to challenge operator and have the know-how.
- Be motivated to progress in their career.
Experience:
- 8-10 years’ experience in hospitality revenue management, experience in asset management is a plus
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Director Revenue Management of a cluster or an area
- Leading a team
- UAE work experience and Dubai market exposure is a must
- Experience in F&B revenue management is an advantage
Education:
- Degree in hospitality administration, revenue management, or related field
- MBA is a plus
