The English College, Dubai, seeks a positive, reflective and inspiring teacher of physical education to work in the primary School for August 2023. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and high expectations of all staff and students. They will be open and willing to learn; they will be expected to engage in professional learning with the mindset that everyone can always improve. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about encouraging students to grow and develop holistically – academically, emotionally, physically and socially.

The physical education department at the English College is a strong faculty with a thriving PE programme and excellent results. We require someone who will share in our departmental vision and inspire a lifelong thirst for learning of physical education and love of sport within our students. The successful candidate will join an innovative, hard-working, friendly and supportive faculty where teachers are committed to developing learning strategies which challenge and interest all of our students. Applicants must have experience teaching primary physical education, including foundation stage and be willing to teach across the Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 and 2.

Successful applicants will:

• Be honest, transparent and have integrity.
• Have a good honours degree.
• Hold a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience of teaching primary PE in a British curriculum school, with the title of PE teacher or equivalent. Those who have not taught primary PE in a British curriculum school need not apply.
• Be talented and highly motivated
• Be willing to work with the faculty to develop the curriculum and assessment models.
• Be willing to take on and manage external trips, tours and fixtures.
• Be willing to contribute to the development of departmental resources
• Contribute to whole school sporting activities before or after school
• Be able to provide a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
• Be professional in appearance and conduct
• Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school
