Job Purpose: Implement the internal communications strategy by producing high-quality communications content, publishing and moderating on internal communications channels, and delivering on assigned activities and projects under the supervision of the Internal Communications Manager (ICM) or Manager Internal and Group Communications (MIC). Work closely with other Internal Communications team members to ensure that employee messaging across projects and departments are consistent and aligned with the corporate position. Job Outline: – Drive the implementation of the internal communications strategy and work closely with the management team and other internal stakeholders to bring about a strategic and joined-up approach to internal communications. – Develop and manage fit-for-purpose communications content and channels to meet the needs of diverse internal audiences. – Devise, implement and evaluate internal communications plans on assigned projects, working closely with the relevant support departments or project managers involved. – Plan, co-ordinate and manage internal employee events as assigned, both physical as well as virtual or hybrid. – Maintain an up-to-date forward plan for the communication of projects and key initiatives, and support the team in tracking and reporting on activities and campaigns. – Ensure that the content of internal communication channels, including the employee social media community, intranet and email bulletins, all work in support of the internal communications strategy and are continually reviewed and improved. – Ensure that the internal communications function supports key HR deliverables such as the people management strategy, employee surveys, inductions and award schemes. – Support business unit managers and equip them with messaging, consultancy, and the tools to communicate effectively and confidently with their teams.
Qualifications & Experience: – Education: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) – A minimum of 3 years’ experience in either internal or external communications in a large or reputed company – Proven editorial experience and the ability to manage a project from research stage through to implementation with little supervision – Excellent written skills, and ideally able to create simple video and other visual communications content (e.g. posters, infographics etc). – Ability to present work quickly and accurately with creative flair – Strong understanding of communications principles and the confidence to challenge and provide advice to senior management – Strong digital skills, ideally experienced working with intranets and virtual employee events – Ability to understand and communicate persuasively issues and policies to different employee groups – Tact and discretion to handle confidential information – Ability to analyse complex information and translate into simple messages
