Organization Unit Purpose:To review, report, monitor, and coordinate risk-related activities within the unit in coordination with the Operational Risk Team and ensure that all Risk aspects are looked at during the assessment of the operational processes.Job Purpose/Responsibilities:Sampling:Undertake activity to check for adherence to defined policies & procedures as per the risk framework. Activity is undertaken across the department and unbiased /independent sample selection.Review of sample checks conducted for investigation on exceptional transactions, Sample check on reconciliation of suspense, nostro a/c’s, debits to P&L A/C, Review to ensure EOD/SOD/ Intra-day controls are adhered to and are adequate as per sampling frameworkRisk Assessment, Initiatives & Awareness:ORCA: Active participation in timely closure- Risk Register for the department with adequate controls.NPPA Reviews: Risk analysis & identification:Conduct an Independent Risk Review to highlight gaps in the proposed processes and propose solutions.Escalate critical issues.Define/enhance KRI and report every month.Report Risks/Process gaps to unit heads along with the Oprisk team, Conduct RCA & Suggest controls for review, and Initiate process reviews/enhancements in coordination with the unit head.Staff awareness: Conduct formal/Informal training in coordination with the Oprisk teamReview PFD & SOP for necessary fine-tuning and process enhancements.Participate in risk forums as and when requiredOpen audit findings & Ops risk actions & access reviews of the unitOversee the implementation of departmental actions for Open audit findings, compliance actions, and Ops Risk issues (Open pages – issues & actions, Ops Risk Committee issues) for timely closure, track /monitor progress, escalate items that may be overdue, and provide accurate and timely updates. Initiate date changes with required/approved justification.Implement practices across sub-teams – so that findings are closed across all sub-teams in the department.Support the unit in being audit-ready and self-report management-identified issues.Monitoring and closure of open, pending, rejected & drafts Loss events – advising where reporting timelines are not adhered to (7 calendar days from the discovery date).Perform Monthly /Quarterly reviews on reports from Logical security & Review existing and new profiles for the unitReview RCAs on Real Time Alerts – medium & high-risk events- track implementation within units, reporting where targets are moving to improve the control environment.Periodic review of control checks due to changes in policy, process, events (internal & external)BCP – tracking annual testing status/ key issues statusPerson Specifications:Bachelor’s degree in any field.+3 years’ experience in risk/internal controls or processes reviews, knowledge of banking products, processes, and systems handled in the organization.+5 years’ experience and Knowledge of banking products, processes, and systems handled at the department.Ability to undertake ownership and lead reviews.Understanding of operational risk and Basel II approachesTeam player with the right attitudeShould be able to think out of the box and have analytical & problem-solving skills.Professional certifications in risk are preferable.Relationship and conflict managementNegotiation and InfluencingLead/motivate teamAchievement orientedAbility to lead, plan, and manage changePriority setting and ability to handle multiple Initiatives at the same time.Multicultural and diverse working environment conscious
