A Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement process for engineering projects. They work closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. The Engineer should have a good understanding of engineering specifications and requirements, as well as the ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts. They should be able to identify potential risks or issues and provide effective solutions to ensure project success.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with project managers and engineers to determine material requirements.Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and reliability.Issue requests for quotations, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.Review and approve supplier invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies.Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.Identify potential risks or issues and propose mitigation measures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.Proven experience in procurement for engineering projects.Knowledge of engineering specifications and requirements.Strong negotiation and analytical skills.Excellent communication and organizational skills.
