As an Optical Technician, you will be responsible for assisting optometrists and ophthalmologists in various tasks related to eye care. Your duties will include conducting preliminary eye exams, performing diagnostic tests, assisting with contact lens fittings, maintaining and calibrating optical equipment, and educating patients on proper eye care procedures. You will work closely with the eye care team to ensure that patients receive high-quality service and accurate prescriptions. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others improve their vision. A background in optometry or ophthalmology is preferred, but on-the-job training may be provided for the right candidate.ResponsibilitiesPerform precision optical alignment and assembly of components according to specifications.Inspect and test optical systems using a variety of tools and equipment.Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in optical systems and propose solutions.Calibrate and maintain optical equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop new optical systems.Document processes, procedures, and test results accurately.Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling optical components.Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.Stay updated on the latest technology and advancements in the field of optics.Ensure all work is completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
