An Elevator Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems. They inspect elevator components, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. They may work on hydraulic, traction, or pneumatic elevators in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. They also collaborate with architects, engineers, and building managers to ensure efficient elevator operation.ResponsibilitiesInstall and test elevator systems in new constructions.Perform routine maintenance and inspections of elevators and escalators.Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning elevator components.Update elevator systems with modernization or upgrades.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.Respond to service calls and resolve elevator-related issues.Collaborate with architects and engineers on elevator designs and installations.Train and mentor junior elevator technicians.Stay updated with the latest advancements in elevator technology.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design techniques.Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
