The Consultant Gastroenterologist will utilize their expertise to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, interpret results, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively explain medical conditions, treatment options, and procedures to patients and their families. The successful candidate should be board certified in gastroenterology and possess exceptional clinical skills, empathy, and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient-centered care. A competitive salary and benefits package are offered for the right candidate.ResponsibilitiesPerform consultations, assessments, and diagnosis of patients with gastrointestinal issues.Develop and implement treatment plans for gastrointestinal conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.Conduct endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies, and sigmoidoscopies.Interpret diagnostic tests such as biopsies, blood tests, stool analyses, and imaging studies.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, oncologists, and dietitians to provide comprehensive care for patients.Stay up-to-date with current research and developments in the field of gastroenterology.Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes to ensure high standards of care.Provide on-call services for urgent gastrointestinal consultations and emergencies.
Requirements
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)Completion of internal medicine residency programFellowship in gastroenterologyBoard certification in gastroenterologyValid state medical license
