Job Brief:
We are
seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carbon Fibre Technician to join our team.
The Carbon Fibre Technician will play a critical role in the production process
of manufacturing components from carbon fibre and other composite materials.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of composite manufacturing
processes and be proficient in various techniques such as preparing moulds, ply
cutting, prepreg lamination, bagging, curing, demoulding, trimming, bonding,
assembly, and quality control.Responsibilities
include:
Preparing Mold: Assist
in the preparation of molds for composite component production, ensuring
molds are clean, properly coated
Ply Cutting: Accurately
cut carbon fiber sheets or prepreg material according to specified
patterns and dimensions for layup.
Prepreg Lamination: Execute
the lamination process by layering carbon fiber materials in molds or
tooling as per design requirements.
Bagging: Perform
vacuum bagging techniques to remove air and facilitate proper resin
infusion during the manufacturing process.
Curing: Monitor
and control the curing process of composite components in oven or
autoclave to ensure proper bonding and consolidation of materials.
Demolding: Safely
remove cured composite components from molds without causing damage to the
parts or molds.
Trimming: Trim
excess material from composite components using hand tools or machinery to
achieve final specifications.
Bonding: Apply
adhesives or bonding agents as needed to assemble composite components and
ensure structural integrity.
Assembly: Assist
in the assembly of composite components into larger structures or
products, following assembly procedures and specifications.
Quality Control: Conduct
quality control inspections and tests on finished composite components to
verify structural integrity.
Skills and experience required:
Relevant technical
training or certification in composite materials preferred,
Previous experience
in composite manufacturing processes,
Knowledge of
composite materials, resin systems, and curing processes,
Ability to read and
interpret technical drawings and specifications,
Strong attention to
detail and quality standards,
Effective
communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a
team,
Willingness to
follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
