Jebel Ali School, Dubai, is seeking an engaging, qualified Islamic Studies Teacher, for a part-time role (0.5 FTE) in their leading British international school.

The school first opened its doors to Primary students in 1977 and has provided the children of Dubai with an outstanding education for over 40 years. In 2016, the school moved to a fabulous new campus in the Damac Hills area of the city and is now open to Students from FS1 to Year 11. In September 2021 the school welcomed its first Sixth Form students.

Our campus contains state of the art facilities including a standalone Foundation Unit, Primary and Secondary Schools as well as some of the most impressive sports facilities in the city. Known and admired as the original Dubai community school, the school currently has 1,240 students on roll of whom approximately 46% are British/Irish with an additional 53 nationalities represented. Jebel Ali School follows the English National Curriculum to GCSE and ‘A’ Levels.

Requirements

The successful applicant will:

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies
• Possess successful proven experience teaching Arabic in a reputable international school in the UAE
• Have experience teaching both primary and secondary Islamic Studies
• Possess a strong focus on the pastoral care of children, understanding the balance between academic and social progress and support, as well as the ability to identify safeguarding concerns.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and a positive approach to both individual and collaborative professional development.
• Be local hire candidate and available on flexible part time contract (0.5 FTE)
