At SISD we follow the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme from Pre-Kindergarten (PreKG) to Grade 12 and the Swiss Baccalaureate programme from Grade 6 onwards. The Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai is an IB Continuum World School authorised to offer and teach the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP).

We are looking for an outstanding, passionate, caring and driven University and Careers Guidance Counsellor.

The role of the University and Careers Guidance Counsellor is to help prepare, guide and support SISD students for their future academic and career plans.

The University and Careers Guidance Counsellor will work closely with the MYP, CP and DP Curriculum Coordinators and manage a portfolio of students to ensure that our students have the information, resources, and opportunities to create a post-secondary plan that is suited to each student’s needs, future goals, and aspirations.

This is a key position in the Secondary School to ensure that all students receive the best guidance and preparation for the competitive post-secondary environment.

As part of our commitment to our academic staff’s personal and professional development, comprehensive professional development will be provided to the successful candidate, who will:

• be fully qualified and experienced University and Careers Guidance Counsellor holding a relevant educational degree and professional qualification or certification
• have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of University and Careers Guidance Counsellor
• have experience in advising students of the admissions process across, inter alia, Europe, US, Canada and UK
• be proficient in an additional language such as French, German or Arabic (desirable)
