At SISD we follow the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme from Pre-Kindergarten (PreKG) to Grade 12 and the Swiss Baccalaureate programme from Grade 6 onwards. The Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai is an IB Continuum World School authorised to offer and teach the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP).

We are looking for an outstanding, passionate, caring and reflective Head of Early Years and Primary for August 2023.

The Head of Early Years and Primary is an exceptional teaching and learning leader, preferably bi-lingual (English with French or German), who will have responsible for implementing the IB PYP curriculum for early Years and Primary in close collaboration with the Principal and Deputy Head of Whole School (Teaching and Learning).

The Head of Early Years and Primary will act as the pedagogical and organizational leader and will support and assist the Principal and contribute to the strategic planning of Early Years and Primary with a special focus on a bilingual approach to teaching and learning as well as excellence in all areas relating to the academic and pastoral care of the Early Years and Primary School students.

As part of our commitment to our academic staff’s personal and professional development, comprehensive professional development will be provided to the successful candidate, who will:

• be fully qualified and experienced Head of Early Years and Primary with a Subject Degree and a relevant professional leadership qualification for the role
• have relevant recent professional development that qualifies the candidate for this position
• have extensive international Early Years and Primary teaching and leadership experience
• have an additional language such as French, German or Arabic would be desirable
• have significant experience of delivering the IB PYP curriculum would be desirable
