JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- To assist and advise the Head of CPBB in all aspects of their duties, coordinating and leveraging internal resources to ensure all core divisional KPIs are met in a timely manner. The job holder needs to display exemplary business acumen and interpersonal skills.
Business
- Implement, track and report on performance vs. management objectives for the Head of CPBB and the direct reports
- Focus on delivering financial performance, drive and monitor business plans, budgets and other business planning projects
- Be a key contact for the direct and indirect reports of the Head of CPBB for matters that require support
Strategy
- Assist with the development, implementation and updates of the CPBB UAE strategy
- Drive business alignment with CPBB functional and regional teams
- Undertake specific business projects for the Head of CPBB
- Continuously seek ways to drive Business efficiency through continuous engagement with various stakeholders, identifying and tracking initiatives to drive cost downwards while growing revenue
Processes
- Organise and coordinate key business meetings and monitor follow up actions. Create and deliver reporting and presentations, as required
- Optimise time management for the Head of CPBB
- Review materials submitted to the Head of CPBB and ensure timely follow through
- Identify and implement best practices in resources and processes, ensuring consistency and relevancy
- Follow through on implementation of all approved scorecards in line with approved guideline and / or dispensations.
- Follow through on execution of all business efficiency plans
- Follow through on execution of all plans for branch expansion and optimization
Risk Management
- Ensure that conduct and process risks associated with implementing our performance management tools are mitigated through adequate checks and balances.
- Ensuring processes under branch expansion and optimization are executed mitigating the emergence of conduct related risks.
- Support the Head of CPBB in maintaining a robust cost control environment
Governance
- Ensure relevant Business Efficiency and Transformation forums and actions are implemented within the Group’s governance framework
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Lead the
CPBB UAE team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment. - Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Other Responsibilities
- Ensure engagement of the wider support team
- Drive alignment and engagement of BPM communities, particularly CPBBMT and MT BPMs
- Engage with head of key HR counterparts to drive People Forum agenda for CPBBMT
- Manage membership of Retail Banking Top Team
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
- Work with the office of the CPBB COO to ensure the risk and control environment is well managed
- Ensure Head of CPBB is briefed on key risk and governance issues
- Manage follow up actions for Group risk meetings
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct

- Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in the office of the Head of CPBB
- Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures

- Flexibility and responsiveness in order to handle changing priorities and urgent requests from management

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate with minimal guidance and identify priorities
- Demonstrated strategic capability, but also a capability to attend to detail and financial data
- Languages: excellent command of English
