The Azure Network Engineer’s responsibilities include recommending, planning, and implementing Azure networking solutions. Azure engineer role oversees the solution’s performance, resiliency, scale, and security. Network engineers use the Azure Portal and other techniques to deploy networking solutions, such as PowerShell, Azure Command-Line Interface (CLI), and Azure Resource Manager templates (ARM templates).

To provide Azure solutions, the Azure Network Engineer unites with solution architects, security engineers, application developers, and DevOps engineers.

Your duties will include:

Responsibilities

1- Azure Infrastructure Design and Architecture:

• Design and architect Azure infrastructure solutions to meet the organization’s technical and business requirements.
• Create scalable and highly available Azure architectures.
• Select and configure appropriate Azure services and components.

2- Implementation and Deployment:

• Deploy and manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, databases, networking, and storage.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure infrastructure is versioned and easily reproducible.

3 – Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards in Azure environments.
• Configure and manage Azure security services like Azure Security Center and Azure Policy.
• Monitor and respond to security threats and incidents.

4 – Networking:

• Design and configure Azure Virtual Networks (VNets) and subnets.
• Set up and manage VPNs, ExpressRoute, and network security groups.
• Implement load balancers and traffic routing solutions.

5 – Identity and Access Management:

• Manage Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and implement identity and access management solutions.
• Configure Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Ensure proper access controls and permissions for Azure resources.

6 – Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

• Implement monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Azure-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.

7 – Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Plan and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
• Ensure data and application availability in case of failures.

8 – Cost Management:

• Optimize Azure resource usage to control costs and maximize efficiency.
• Implement cost management tools and practices.

9 – Collaboration and Documentation:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and other engineers.
• Document Azure architectures, configurations, and best practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

10 – Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with Azure services and technologies, as well as industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

11 – Project Management:

• Manage Azure-related projects, including planning, execution, and resource allocation.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

12 – Customer Support:

• Provide technical support to customers or internal teams, addressing Azure-related inquiries and issues.

Skills

The ideal candidates will have:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, databases, and security.
• Proficiency in designing and architecting Azure solutions, considering factors such as scalability, availability, and cost optimization.
• Experience with Azure migration methodologies and tools, including assessing on-premises infrastructure, planning and executing migrations, and post-migration validation.
• Understanding of Azure governance, including Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure policies, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and Azure Blueprints.
• Knowledge of Azure monitoring and management tools, such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Automation, and Azure Resource Manager templates.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and configuration management.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and consulting skills to interact with clients, gather requirements, and effectively convey technical concepts.
• Proficiency in network technologies, protocols, and architectures, such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Knowledge of Azure network monitoring and management tools
• Experience with network troubleshooting and performance optimization, including analyzing network traffic, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions.
• Understanding of network security principles and best practices, including Azure firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs).
• Familiarity with network infrastructure design and implementation, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
