Smiths Group Hiring for Senior Service Technician Job at Dubai Full Time

The Senior Service Technician will be responsible for the refurbishment and testing processes of dry gas seals in the Dubai service center, this will include being the link between the service manager and service team, working to monthly forecasts and test plans, supplying monthly KPI reports and managing the service teams daily activities.

The Senior Service Technician will perform activities related to the repair and manufacture of refurbished wet and DGS’s.

Those activities include:

• Strip, inspect and assemble of wet and dry gas seals
• Complete the grooving activities for repair
• Dismantling and cleaning of seals and parts under repair.
• Assemble and repair mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specifications.
• Define and write strip and inspection reports
• Review and approve inspection reports
• Complete the set up and test of different types/sizes of dry gas seals
• Lapping, polishing and cleaning when necessary, following the set standard processes.
• Scheduling DGS assembly and testing activities for the team to meet monthly forecasts
• Monitor and supply monthly KIP’s to service manager
• Support TURBO team and RCA investigations
• Customer facing during witness inspections and testing
• Support other regional John Crane sites in DGS activities during high work loads
• Review risk assessments and maintenance processes
• Support internal and external Audits
• Ensures quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by himself/herself and staff reporting to him/her
• Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization
• Ensures compliance with the applicable HSE instructions, requirements, laws and regulations received from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies

• Diploma or University degree in Engineering or relevant vocational technical qualification
• 8+ years of professional experience in proactive multinational & multicultural environment
• Knowledge/Skills: Lapping and polishing knowledge; Knowledge of John Crane product portfolio, including wet seal assembly and repair, dry gas seal assembly and repair; Route cause analysis experience
