At Asterix Communications, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ITS Engineer to play a pivotal role in the expansion of Intelligent Traffic Systems and Technologies in Dubai and the GCC region.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and prepare design documents and technical specifications for the construction of ITS and C-ITS, including identified routes, proposed C-ITS standards and services, pilot areas for C-ITS deployment, ITS device locations, time schedules, and cost estimates.
Participate in a comprehensive review of the ITS Expansion roadmap, aligning it with current and forecasted traffic conditions, device coverage, and ongoing road development projects.
Design and implement ITS equipment and communications infrastructure, including fiber optic and wireless technologies, CCTV, Dynamic Message Signs, and sensor technologies.
Conduct benchmarking studies of current and future ITS implementations, evaluating technical maturity, integration, open data, and innovative technology trends, mainly Co-operative-ITS (C-ITS), Smart Mobility, and Connected Autonomous Vehicle.
Review contract specifications, implementation methodology, standards, and identify potential gaps in the existing ITS infrastructure.
Propose improvements for implementation, including additional ITS devices and advanced transportation technologies.
Design C-ITS applications and services, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communication systems.
Supervise the deployment and configuration of ITS and C-ITS components.
Collaborate with the ITS team and subject matter experts from other projects, fostering cooperation and sharing knowledge and experience.
Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to identify requirements and finalize project scope.
Present progress and milestones to stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Transportation, Communication Engineering, or related Technology field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and implementing Intelligent Transportation Systems, including on C-ITS and Smart Mobility.
In-depth knowledge of traffic management, ITS standards, C-ITS, smart cities, emerging transportation technologies, and best practices.
Proven track record in working on complex projects from inception through completion.
Strong technical writing and communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot complex issues.
A background in wireless and mobile communications is preferred, and experience with C-V2X is especially desirable.
MicroStation and/or AutoCAD knowledge.
