A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive who manages the financial actions of a company. They are responsible for:
- Tracking cash flow
- Financial planning
- Analyzing the company’s finances
- Internal and external financial reporting
- Stewardship of a company’s assets
- Cash management
- Assuring legal and regulatory documents are filed
- Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations
- Obtaining and maintaining investor relations and partnership compliance
CFOs typically work for corporations across a variety of industries. They work closely with the CEO to review quarterly financial reports.
CFOs require excellent management and supervisory skills, analytical and organizational skills, and proficiency in database and accounting computer application systems
