ob Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Storekeeper to join our joinery works company. As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for managing the inventory and ensuring the smooth operation of the store. Your main responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials and equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and coordinating with various departments to fulfill their material requirements. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of joinery materials and equipment.
Responsibilities:
1-Receive and inspect incoming materials, ensuring their quality and accuracy according to purchase orders.
2-Properly store and organize materials in designated locations within the store, ensuring efficient space utilization.
3-Maintain accurate inventory records by updating the inventory management system regularly.
4-Monitor stock levels and anticipate material requirements based on project schedules and production needs.
5-Coordinate with the procurement team to replenish stock and ensure timely availability of materials.
6-Issue materials and equipment to different departments or job sites as per authorized requests.
7-Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, such as delivery notes, stock transfer forms, and material issue records.
8-Conduct regular stock checks to identify discrepancies and perform reconciliations.
9-Implement proper storage techniques to ensure the integrity and longevity of materials.
10-Collaborate with the joinery production team to understand their material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
11-Follow proper safety procedures for handling and storing hazardous materials.
12-Keep the store area clean and organized, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
13-Coordinate with suppliers for the return or replacement of defective materials.
14-Assist in the periodic physical inventory count and reconciliation process.
15-Identify areas for process improvement and propose solutions to enhance store operations.
Requirements:
1-High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in inventory management or warehousing is a plus.
2-Previous experience as a Storekeeper or similar role in the joinery or construction industry is highly desirable.
3-Strong knowledge of joinery materials, equipment, and tools is essential.
4-Familiarity with inventory management systems and software for tracking and maintaining stock levels.
5-Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
6-Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7-Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different departments and suppliers.
8-Physical stamina to perform manual lifting and carrying of heavy materials, if required.
9-Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for handling and storing hazardous materials.
10-Proactive attitude with a problem-solving mindset.
