Role

You will ensure that departmental and functional procedures, internal controls, and reporting conform to company procedures, corporate policies, state and regulations. At the Finance Shared Services Centre, our clients mission is to deliver service excellence and innovative solutions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and lead the implementation of the Financial Shared Services road map to achieve efficiency and effectiveness of core accounting and finance processes and activities, including the achievement of identified cost savings initiatives.
• Effectively communicate Financial Shared Services strategy and road map and future operating model across the organisation
• Champion change management program associated with enterprise-wide finance transformation initiative.
• Build, manage, develop, and inspire a team of direct and indirect reports in the achievement of business and functional objectives.
• Execute smooth and stable migrations of accounting and finance activities from the business units into the Financial Shared Services organisation.
• Create and implement a customer service culture, including establishing and reporting on key performance metrics that measure and monitor the effectiveness and service levels of the Financial Shared Services organisation.
• Develop, implement and maintain system of effective internal controls within the Financial Shared Services organisation and work closely with the Controllership team to ensure internal controls over financial reporting are compliant.
• Develop and grow strong cross-functional relationships to ensure the achievement of Financial Shared Services and business objectives through collaboration, information sharing, and communication.
• Determine, agree and improve contractual requirements, including Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with Financial Shared Services customers in order to meet service specifications and deliver against business objectives.
• Lead month-end close for the Financial Shared Services organisation
• Lead the migration and integration of newly acquired businesses into the Financial Shared Services organisation.
• Recruit, motivate and develop talent in the organisation with the focus of building a strong performing team that includes global process owners and local process managers.

Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA or MBA preferred
• 12-15 years of experience in progressive operational accounting experience, including 5+ years of experience managing and leading a shared services environment
• Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of financial shared service operations
• Broad understanding of interaction between Financial Shared Services organisation and the business unit Finance, Accounting and Customer Service teams
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, analytical, and communication skills (both written and oral)
• Experience with managing under Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and other performance metrics that monitoring on-going activities
• Experience in leading process excellence and performance improvement
• Ability to think strategically, manage uncertainty and risk, and balance multiple competing priorities
• Ability to operate in both matrix and traditional organisational structures
• Demonstrated track record of successfully leading broad finance transformation initiatives
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
• Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
• Able to manage and operate efficiently and effectively at all levels in an organisation
• Ensure company policies are fully understood, followed and monitored for compliance.
• Deep work experience with internal and external auditors
