We are seeking a DBA Specialist – As a DBA Specialist, you will work closely with technical architects to develop configurations and controls to support the release of Database as a Service (DBaaS) solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the database environment, with a focus on configuration management, security controls, and performance optimization. This role requires a strong understanding of database administration principles, excellent technical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Fluent Arabic language skills are required
Very regular travel to a customer-site in Saudi Arabia will be required.

Responsibilities

• Configuration Management: Collaborate with technical architects to develop and implement configuration management processes and guidelines for the DBaaS platform, ensuring consistency, stability, and scalability.
• Security Controls: Implement and maintain security controls and access management policies to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the database systems. Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, optimizing queries, and fine-tuning database configurations.
• Database Administration: Perform routine database administration tasks, including database installation, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as performance degradation, data corruption, and connectivity problems. Work closely with application developers and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve database-related issues.
• Release Management: Collaborate with technical architects and development teams to support the release of DBaaS solutions. Participate in release planning, perform impact assessments, and ensure proper configuration and control measures are in place.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, capacity, and security compliance as required.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with technical architects, developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of the DBaaS platform.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and enhancement of database administration practices.
• Compliance and Auditing: Ensure database systems comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Support internal and external audits as necessary.

Skills required & Experience

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role, with a focus on managing and supporting enterprise-level databases.
• Strong knowledge of database administration principles and best practices, including database installation, configuration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization techniques.
• Experience with database security controls, access management, and vulnerability assessments.
• Familiarity with Database as a Service (DBaaS) concepts and cloud-based database platforms
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve database-related issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with configuration management tools and release management processes is desirable.
