Amazon’s Global Immigration Team within Employee Experience and Technology centrally manages global immigration filings and delivers projects to improve quality, cost and compliance of immigration services across Amazon’s global businesses.

Amazon is seeking a UAE Senior Immigration Specialist to support the needs of our growing UAE immigration team based in Dubai. As a highly motivated and experienced UAE immigration practitioner, you will be responsible for managing the end to end immigration application requirements of Amazon international employees transferring to or already working in UAE. You will work within a highly productive team organised into coordination, typing and government liaison sub-teams, and report to the UAE Immigration Team Manager.

• Filing and executing immigration cases, coordinating between recruitment, onboarding and other HR stakeholders and government authorities; formulating and executing the best possible immigration strategy for each employee.
• Manage a high caseload of applications. A typical caseload would be 45 of mixed application types from new, renewal, cancelation and amendment of work permit and residency visas; each filing includes sub-applications related to work permit, entry permit, medical test, Emirates ID and residency visa stamping for each applicant.
• Coordinate with other specialized members of the team for drafting and submission, payment of government fees and collection of documents/approval notices.
• Manage a high volume of communications with the employee and several internal groups while meeting the team respond SLA within a single business day or sooner, depending on the case timeline.
• Participate in a weekly casework review meeting to examine the progress of all cases against standard turn-around-times and key metrics.
• Formulating action plans to resolve issues and realign stakeholder expectations.
• Act as the first point of contact for service escalations, creating and maintaining a service issue log to record all related activity and conclusions.
• Investigate processes and create business cases for enhancements, working alongside the Program Manager, Process Specialists and drawing upon other UAE subject matter experts.
• On occasion investigate changes in UAE immigration legislation and policy and inform HR, Legal and other stakeholder groups on potential impacts to the business.
• Contribute to, and drive, process improvement initiatives, beginning with identifying defects or evaluating customer complaints but also considering where the team can increase efficiency and continuously upscale the quality of service.

Key job responsibilities

• Provide written and verbal UAE immigration advice to Amazon employees, HR, recruitment and other business stakeholders
• Plan and keep track of all tasks required as part of an immigration process (“case”)
• Coordinate with colleagues for submission of applications, collection of documents post approval and liaison with government officials
• Update immigration application progress in the immigration case management system in order to facilitate timely updates and reporting to the employee, recruiters etc
• Ensure all queries and complaints are dealt with in a timely manner and be the point of contact for any escalated cases.
• Participate in regular team meetings, to contribute to group discussions on areas of potential improvements and to resolve issues of a broader policy nature.
• Master’s Degree in related field.
• Proven ability to identify process defects, make recommendations for process improvements, and implement process improvements.
