About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Project Design Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Japan. As a key member of our Fleet Remediation Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading design projects in operational data centers, remedying issues, upgrading existing infrastructure, and adding new services.As a Project Design Mechanical Engineer, you will possess strong engineering judgment and provide design recommendations despite uncertainty. You will be detail-oriented and data-driven, with familiarity with design/construction processes. You will manage engineering projects and engineering consultants, build trust and relationships with stakeholders, and manage design and as-built drawings and documents.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.Prepare and review short circuit coordination studies and maintain software models to match as-built site conditions.Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.About the TeamOur team is diverse and inclusive, with a culture that values bold ideas and empowers employees to own them to completion.
