Our client is a well-established engineering firm which specializes in manufacturing, distribution and turnkey services across diverse industrial and commercial sectors including oil & gas, sustainable energy, manufacturing and healthcare.

As part of their growth, we are recruiting an experienced Head of Engineering to join their Dubai operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering operations related to manufacturing and services across all the verticals.

Candidates must have experience of managing, developing and growing a competent engineering function through its people, its contribution to and impact on P&L and improving margin and profitability.

Role Summary

Develop engineering strategies and manage engineering teams to deliver excellence across a diverse ranges of products and services.

Collaborate cross functionally to support business growth, drive process improvement, raise the standards across manufacturing and service workshops and field operations.

Assess and improve existing systems and processes to improve engineering productivity.

Design, product development, R&D, certification and implementing new engineering technology solutions.

Lead specification and commissioning of new equipment and processes.

Ensure production equipment has dedicated engineering support, preventative maintenance plans, operating instructions, process control measures and a spares policy.

Ensure project execution conformity to approved design and lead the production variation order process.

Work closely with the business development and sales teams to identify new business opportunities.

Lead project feasibility assessment activities working across business development and engineering functions.

Lead innovation, quality and productivity with meaningful metrics to track successful delivery of value, customer satisfaction and increased performance.

Develop and implement policies, procedures & documentation for production management, commissioning, quality assurance, work breakdown systems, project cost tracking system and procurement process implementing engineering best practices.

Manage budgets and work within the project scope to ensure the profitability.

Optimize team performance through reduced downtime and increased productivity.

Implement policies, processes and systems to improve ISO and QHSE standards.

Provide technical support for each product throughout its planning, manufacture and delivery.

Ensure department and individual KPIs metrics are continuously reviewed and that corrective / preventative actions are undertaken.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

10+ years’ experience in leading manufacturing engineering teams to achieve quality and delivery within budgeted cost and project scope.

Strong experience of planning, production, process and industrial engineering in manufacturing in oil & gas, turbines or chemical industrials is mandatory.

Experience implementing manufacturing and continuous improvement processes and systems to increase efficiency, productivity and reduce costs and create a lean culture within the engineering teams.

Experience of Lean Six Sigma is mandatory.

Strong financial, commercial and business acumen to support the preparation and evaluation of budgets, bids, and contracts.

Strong team leadership – proven ability in hiring and developing high performance individuals.

UAE driving license is mandatory.

Education

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Candidate Profile

Currently living in the United Arab Emirates.

Fluent in English.

Tenacious with the ability to deliver change through implementing new methods of manufacturing and service delivery.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to collaborate with clients and senior level management.
